District Attorney’s Office Closed for Training on November 22

The Williamson County District Attorney’s Office, located in the Justice Center at 405 MLK in Georgetown, will be closed all day for staff training on Friday, November 22, 2019. The office will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019.

U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree Comes to Historic Courthouse

The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will make a stop in Georgetown on November 17 on its way to Washington, D.C., from Carson National Forest in New Mexico. The tree will be parked on Main Street between Seventh and Eighth streets in front of the historic County Courthouse from 4-5 p.m. To celebrate, the City is hosting U.S. Capitol Tree Day in Georgetown on the Square from 2-5 p.m. During the event, visitors will be able to meet Santa Claus and his two reindeer with his antique sleigh, participate in children’s crafts, and purchase U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree merchandise and Georgetown collectible ornaments.

County Offices Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday

Williamson County offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday.  County offices will resume operations on Monday, December 2, 2019.  The Commissioners Court meeting that is usually held on Tuesdays will not be held on December 3.  The next Commissioners Court meeting following the holiday will be Tuesday, December 10, 2019.

JP 4 Office Closures

The office of Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 at 211 W. Sixth St. in Taylor will be closed for staff training November 18 to 22, 2019. The office is closed to the public on Wednesdays. While the office is closed, people who want to make payments on their cases can continue to pay online, mail their payments and use the court’s drop box on the north side of the building at 211 W. Sixth St. in Taylor.

Burn Ban Lifted October 14

County Judge Bill Gravell has lifted the burn ban for unincorporated areas of Williamson County today, Monday, October 14, 2019, at 11 a.m. View the order lifting the burn ban here. Please be cautious with any outdoor burning activity.  Outdoor burning must be conducted under state regulations found in Texas Administrative Code Section 30 TAC 111.219.
