Jury Scamming

It has been reported that county residents have been receiving phone calls regarding their failure to appear for jury service and a warrant has been issued for their arrest. THIS IS A SCAM. Williamson County District and County Courts as per a longstanding policy will NEVER call an individual and ask for money, gift cards, money orders, etc. for payment to clear the warrant for failure to appear for jury. Please do not send money to these individuals when requested. Contact your local law enforcement agency.

Criminal E-Filing Notice

The Williamson County District Clerk’s office is currently offering permissive e-File in criminal cases. The Supreme Court Misc. Docket No. 17-002 reflects the Order and instructions on the mandate for Criminal e-File.

Williamson County is mandated to “go live” on January 1, 2018 with criminal e-File. The permissive stage is a chance for the attorney and the clerk to test the system and work out any issues prior to the January 1, 2018 deadline.

If any attorney would like to begin the process we are ready to accept your criminal filings. We know there is always some hesitation when beginning something new and unfamiliar. Please keep in mind this is a Mandate and we will be following the guidelines as set out by the Supreme Court.

Please refer to the instructions set out by the Supreme Court in No. 17-002 for information regarding requirements of the e-File process. If you should have questions regarding the Williamson County District Clerk’s business process please contact Cathy Mendoza, Chief Deputy @ 512/943-1212. She has been assigned as the project manager by me to work with attorneys during this transition. If we can be of assistance please feel free to give us a call.
