    County Offices Closed for Memorial Day

    Williamson County offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day.  All county operations will resume regular hours on Tuesday, May 28, 2019; however, the Commissioners Court will not meet on Tuesday, May 28. The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will be open regular hours on Monday from noon to 6 p.m. In honor of Memorial Day, from Friday, May 24, through Monday, May 27, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is hosting free adoptions for all adult dogs and cats. Be a hero to a pet and adopt a new family member this weekend.

    Citizens Bond Committee Meets May 30

    The Williamson County Citizens Bond Committee has several meetings scheduled to hear from cities, municipal utility districts, schools and others regarding the potential need for roads and trails around the county. The purpose of the Williamson County Citizens Bond Committee is to review and analyze the infrastructure needs of Williamson County to determine if the county should consider a bond election in November 2019. All meetings are open to the public. The next meeting will be on Thursday, May 30, at 5:30 p.m. at the Williamson County Georgetown Annex, 100 Wilco Way, Georgetown, Texas, in the second floor meeting room. Learn how to control life-threatening bleeding as a bystander!  Course teaches tourniquet application, direct pressure and wound packing. Open to the community, and appropriate for ages 12+ with adult present.

No matter how rapidly emergency responders arrive, bystanders will always be first on the scene. By- standers can take simple steps to keep the injured alive.  Learn more about how to apply pressure, gauze, and tourniquets to save a life at Stop The Bleed, a free community education cam- paign designed to teach healthcare providers and layper- sons how to tend to a bleeding person.
