Williamson County, Texas

The voters of Williamson County approved a $35 million Parks Bond in the November 2019 election for a series of park improvement and trail development projects.  

The following firms were selected and approved to begin planning and design work on these projects:

• RVi Planning & Landscape Architecture is working on a trail extension of Brushy Creek Regional Trail along Hairy Man Road.
• Parkhill is working on several projects at the Expo Center in Taylor, to include a covered west arena, improved and expanded parking, additional restrooms, covered picnic pavilions, and arena widening.
• Halff Associates is working on three trail projects and several other improvements for Berry Springs Park & Preserve.
  • Trail extension from Southwest Williamson County Regional Park towards Lake Georgetown
  • Trail extension from Southwest Williamson County Regional Park towards Brushy Creek Regional Trail
  • Trail extension between Red Bud Lane and Hutto
  • The Berry Springs Park & Preserve scope includes improved parking, covered pavilion, restrooms, trail extension and a park headquarters/maintenance facility.
• Studio 16:19 is working on additional restroom facilities at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park and expanded parking at Champion Park.
• The YMCA was awarded funding towards a pedestrian bridge at Twin Lakes Park.
• The City of Cedar Park Parks Department was awarded funding towards a trail connection project between Lakeline Park and Twin Lakes Park.
• HNTB will be planning and designing a shared use path along Bagdad Road between Leander and River Ranch County Park as part of two future road improvement projects.
