The district clerk’s records/research section will limit members of the public in research areas. Requests for civil, family, juvenile and criminal records will be handled electronically.  You may submit your request through [email protected] and your copies will be transmitted to you via email.  Certified copies cannot be emailed.  They will be mailed to the address on the request form or you may come to the office for a certified copy request. 

Cases filed are also located on the Judicial Records website at https://judicialrecords.wilco.org

Official records such as Misdemeanors, Deeds, Marriage, Birth, and Death records are requested through the County Clerk's office or online at  https://williamsoncountytx-web.tylerhost.net/williamsonweb/user/disclaimer

Please note: e-file is worked during regular business hours Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with exceptions of holidays.   If you have an emergency filing such as a TRO, Protective Order, etc. please contact the District Clerk's Office before presenting to court in order to ensure your emergency filing has been accepted and officially filed in the District Clerk's Office.  E-file is processed within 24-48 hours.  If a hearing is set and pleadings are filed for a set hearing, please be mindful of these timelines.

Civil/Family process (citations/issuance) can be picked up, emailed or (upon request) SoftCode by the Williamson County Constables, if applicable.   Please make sure instructions for issuance is included in your request.  For questions regarding citation issuance or for special urgent handling please contact the District Clerk's office at (512) 943-1212.

Civil Relating to Criminal Matters

For general inquiries regarding expunction files including verification of service, attorneys will need to email [email protected].Your email must include the cause number and the full name of the applicant.

Criminal Collections

Defendants who are required to make payment arrangements to satisfy a judgment on a conviction should contact the district clerk’s office at (512) 943-1212 during normal business hours.

Criminal/Civil E-Filing Notice

Williamson County was mandated by the Supreme Court in No. 12-9208 to begin Civil E-Filing on July 1, 2014.

Williamson County was mandated by the Supreme Court in No. 17-002 to begin criminal e-Filing on January 1, 2018.

Theses 2 mandates issued by the Supreme Court order that all attorneys are to E-File their documents through the electronic service provider that may be found at http://www.eFileTexas.gov/.

The Judiciary recognizes the need to ensure the health and safety of the jurors and all parties participating in court hearings and have taken additional measures to facilitate jury proceedings in Williamson County.  The Courts will adhere to social distancing and masks will be optional.

It has been reported that county residents have been receiving phone calls regarding their failure to appear for jury service and a warrant has been issued for their arrest. THIS IS A SCAM. Williamson County District and County Courts as per a longstanding policy will NEVER call an individual and ask for money, gift cards, money orders, etc. for payment to clear the warrant for failure to appear for jury. Please do not send money to these individuals when requested. Contact your local law enforcement agency.
